I sat in my bedroom and wrote “Head For The Hills” while the rain pounded Nashville and caused the city to flood.  When I saw the destruction in the aftermath and thought about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, my mind wanted to make sense of all the natural and man made disaster that seems to be occurring at an unusual pace, and my heart wanted to sing relief into the hearts of the people who have suffered loss from these disasters.  I headed to Louisiana to capture some images of the land and the people in the midst of their stories. Hello Everyone, here’s another little preview from my new record. “River City Lights” was recorded as a last minute addition, but it ended up being one of our favorite moments in the making of The Learner. It was an unbelievable treat to have Alison Krauss come in and sing vocals on it.

June 22 is right around the corner, The Learner is coming out on vinyl, too. I heard it today and it sounds so cool on the record player. Enjoy.
